Take A Vacation? Do I Have To?

Vacation? Hmmm, Let Me Think About That

Fifty-two percent of respondents to the Korn Ferry survey said they will not use all of their available vacation time this year. Meanwhile, 88 percent – or about seven of every eight – admitted that they have cancelled, delayed or cut short personal vacation plans due to work demands.

But on the bright side, most workers surveyed will take a vacation of at least a week.

"While only 48 percent of respondents say they plan on taking all of their vacation time, the good news is that 90 percent say they plan on taking a vacation this year that is at least one week long," Korn Ferry's Royal said. "Extended time away is best for professionals so they can recharge and be more effective leaders."
